Is it possible to install Kubuntu on a logical drive (in an extended partition)? Would I have to have the /boot as a primary partition or not? I've been trying to do this, but the installer keeps hanging at around 73%. I just would like to know if this is possible or not. Thanks

Re: Kubuntu on a logical drive
I’ve read that whereas Windows will not boot from a logical partition, Linux will.
I never thought about it per se. However, I’ve put many distros out there on logical partitions (contained within an extended partition), and never gave it a second thought. And, yes, they all booted just fine.
All I did was to create an extended partition (as the fourth primary partition on the drive), and within the extended I created logical partitions (all using GParted Live CD). That was it. Did it with MEPIS, Freespire, and many instances of various version of Kubuntu. No problems.
