Is there a thing like "extra packages CD"?

    Dear All,
I've installed Kubuntu at home, but there is no internet connection there. Another problem is that this machine is old and can't read DVDs. For me it would be very nice to download a CD(s) with a lot of "extra" packages at work and then use it at home. I wonder if there are such extra CDs for Kubuntu. If there are, please give me a link.

    Thanks!
    Semen

I do know there is a DVD version that has a snapshot of the repositories on it. However, I don't believe there is a CD version. I should think you would be able to make your own by downloading the repositories and burning them to CDs. However, without a speedy internet connection this will be quite a project.

**Edit: This link may be helpful. It is for APTonCD which allows you to burn the repository packages to a CD. http://aptoncd.sourceforge.net/

APTonCD looks very nice. I'll definetely try it. The only thing which I can't understand is if it is possible to create the CD on AMD64 machine and use it on "normal" i686.

The architecture of your PC has nothing to do with creating CDs or DVDs. A CD/DVD created on a PC with a 64-bit CPU isn't any different than one created on a PC with a 32-bit CPU.
