Afternoon folks!
Never tried Linux before but I'm way ready for a windows alternative/replacement. I've installed Kubunto on my computer, which was pretty painless. I get a boot menu to choose between Kubuntu and window, no problem. I select Kubuntu, get the loading screen and then the screen goes black. Recovery mode doesn't work either. The system isn't frozen because I can get a command line with ctrl-alt-F1. I think there may be an issue with my video card or something.
My specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 x2 5200+
2 Gigs pc6400 DDR2 RAM
160 GB SATA HD (3 partitions. windows XP, storage, & Kubuntu. Wouldn't have a problem dedicating the whole thing to Linux)
Dual Geforce 7950 512 MB (SLI)
Could there be a problem with having the cards set up for SLI perhaps?
I will be digging through the support forums but I thought I'd ask the question in case someone has had the same issue.
Any help is very much appreciated.
