    Motherboard abit AB9 QuadGT (solved)

I working now almost two years with Kubuntu on my old Dell 8400. But then, I was building my own faster Desktop.
    AB9 QuadGT Board
    4 GB Ram
    ATI X800SE Video Card
    Intel Core 2 Quad Proc.

I tried to install Kubuntu but no success. The Kernel is loading and then one error-message after the next.
...ata3.00 failed to set xfermode (er.mask=0x40)
...usb-4-1 unable to read config index 0
    ...revalidation failed (errno=5) etc..etc...

I got the newest Bios 1.5 , but nothing changed.
The harddrive-controller must be the problem ?!

The board support the Intel ICH8R and JMicron JMB363.

Some distributions are running: MEPIS 6.9 (Test), Suse 10.2 64-bit
and very well Sabayon 64 bit.
Why the heck is Kubuntu not running.....
    Some ideas ?? Thanks Klaus.

Ok! I guess nobody knows how to solve this problem. I tried the Testversion Tribe 5 with no other result.
So I go and write the abit guys a letter and ask them what to do !
    Have a nice day, around.

Solved ! The controller option was on IDE. To work correct it must be on Raid or AHCI.
      Now Kubuntu is running.
