Something wrong kubuntu from ubuntu is UGLY

Yo! I installed the kubuntu-desktop & kde packages via synaptic and booted into kde but it window decoration is boring.. looks like something 8 yrs old. What is wrong w my install? I know how good kde is supposed to look, Running bAsket in gnome looks much better

    What/where & how do i fix this?

Did you click the K button? It's all there, just like the Start menu. Confs and apps.

Looks like a gnome window decorator on a Kubuntu desktop!
I'm stuck at a crappy Win-blows machine at this moment, so I'll try this from memory. Click your Kmenu and then System Settings, and look for "Window Behavior" or "Appearances" or something like that. When you open the right icon, there will be choices regarding window behavior, and one of the items to look for is "Window Decorations". You want "KDE" or "KDE Themes" or something like that.

If you ever install Beryl or Compiz-Fusion, it gets easier because you can just pick and choose between Emerald, Aquamarine, Heliodor, and so forth -- but Beryl does use some CPU horsepower in the process.
