Kubuntu has an extended partition which other Linux distros don't seem to have. Usually just the main ext3, hda1 partition and a swap file. If I use Gparted to partition the HDD, would I need to create this extended partition or would Kubuntu create it out of the remaining unallocated space? Also, wanted to create a backup partition using something like Mondo or Ghost. What would be a good size for that? Thanks.

Re: What's the best way to partition Kubuntu?
If I'm not mistaken, the Kubuntu installer gives you options on how it will set up its partitions. I know almost every other distro gives you this as well. As for the best way, http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3085954.0CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL!!!
