    SATA Install Help

    Hey all, I'm trying to install Fiesty Kubuntu on a friends compaq

    heres the specs
    250g SATA HDD
    64bit AMD athlon 3500+
    with integrated ATI Raedon 200
    with 1G of memory.

    one problem is this, when I'm setting up the partitions in the install phase I get an error "End cannot be before the beginning" or vice versa.

    But the big problem is this;
    After I get through the install phase, GRUB will not install the bootloader. I get an "Grub Installation error, this is a fatal error" is there any way i can manually install grub?

    thanks for any advise

    This will tell you how to re-install GRUB:

    Or, get Super Grub Disk
    Super Grub Disk http://supergrub.forjamari.linex.org/

    But I’d be concerned first about that partitioning error you get.
    Might try GParted to do the partitioning before installing:
    GParted: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
    GParted how-to: http://www.howtoforge.com/partitioning_with_gparted

    Nothing wrong with SATA, btw. I’ve got 3 SATA HDDs with XP and Linux all over them.
