    Won't load installation cd

I'm having a problem installing Kubuntu to my XP computer. I downloaded the .iso and extracted all the files, then burned them to a cd. When I try to boot from the cd, nothing happens and it just boots into XP. I already checked BIOS, and set it to try to boot from the cd drive first. It'll run a standard bootdisk fine. What can I try next?

Is this an accurate statement? When you download the .iso file, you burn it directly to CD; you don't extract its contents. If you did this, reburn a new CD from the .iso file.
