I got a similar messege when I was installing a linux dist, don´t remember wich one, a while ago on a virtual pc (parallels) I lowered the RAM in the virual pc console from 1024mb to 512mb and then it worked, don´t know why, maybe it´s just my computer but worth a try

BYE any UNTU hello MEPIS or DSL --you lost me at least....

After a year of messing with Ubuntu and Kubunty I am moving to MEPIS....
tired of booting problems in virtual machine usage, with the silly 24 bit default xserver-xorg thing
and tired of bugs in new kernels that don't make the mouse work
        and tired of geek interfaces
where everybody says search first before you ask
when you shouldn't have to search
in the first place to install a system!!!

SO will idly take a look here and there but your optimistic future hallucinations
        re taking over
        Microsoft desktop realm
        ain't gonna happen
if its always a pain to set up the first one
and a risky pain to update subsequent ones...

Just don't have the time. Though it has been interesting watching the misguided fumblings
of so many. You too Linus.

        Best,

        N

          RE Caps Lock

Don't you have something more important to do than make suggestions
          regarding Cap Locks?

I did search first by the way...and couldn't find the particular issue in the
          disorganized maze...

            Particular Issue being

After getting most of the way through the install
it is announce that suitable kernel could not be found
and would I like to procede anyway and install a kernel later (NO)
--probably because the VPC shows up as a 586 at best
            is my guess...yada yada yada.

As usual the technicians forget that in the end
it is the Accessibility of the UI
that is all important in the first usage
since otherwise the U turns it off
            and never comes back again.
