Adept issue - some slow repositories

For the past several weeks I have been having very slow response from a couple of the repositories (Kubuntu release 7.04). This happens in both Adept Updater and Adept Manager. The repositories are the medibuntu and wine.budget ones. The repositories were selected through the normal Adept process to manage repositories, not edited by hand. It can take 3 to 5 minutes for the repository scans to complete on those two. Is anyone else having issues with them?

I think I'll disable the wine.budget as I hardly ever use wine anymore and then take a hard look at medibuntu and see if I really need it as well.

don't know about medibuntu.
as for wine, i have what automatix has put there for me:

deb http://wine.lowvoice.nl/apt feisty main

no issues with that one.

many issues with the default security stuff:

deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu ...
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu ...

these time out pretty often.
and i always have to change those to my local mirrors manually.
because, for some reason, the installation changes everything but these ones.

even now i'm installing kubuntu into a virtual machine and just got:

The security updates on security.ubuntu.com couldn't be accessed...

there was a time when medibuntu was painfully slow; now it appears to be working better, at least for me
on the other hand, i do have that kind of issues with the wine repo from time to time;

I just changed the wine site as suggested above and things have greatly improved (it appears). I'll keep a close eye on my next Adept Update. Thanks.

I just had an Adept update this morning and had the slow issues again as follows:

Kubuntu.org fiesty Release - very slow (approximately 3 to 4 minutes)
mediabuntu.sos-sts.com fiesty Release - Error
wine.lowvoice.nl fiesty Release - - very slow (approximately 3 to 4 minutes)
ca.archive.ubuntu.com fiesty Release.gpg - Error

I am in Canada and have the Canadian servers identified as my primary geographic area. This is a new phenomenon, not a show stopper of any kind, just an irritation. It has been about 6 weeks or so this way. I did change the wine repository as suggested above just a few days ago.

something funny at your end, mate...
i've just changed my repos to your canadian ones and updated.
no issues whatsoever...
wine also is as fast as usual...
either you net config or your isp or...

Thanks for the input. I did have some troubles when I upgraded (not a fresh install) to 7.04. Maybe I have a messed up system. I do have the startup at 640x480 problem and the shutdown crazy screen problem as well. Maybe a fresh install is needed, or just wait and work around things and do a fresh install at 7.10. Again, thanks.
