Ubuntu desktop after installing Kubuntu

Hi,
I just installed Ubuntu two days ago and then installed Kubuntu. While the login has changed to Kubuntu, the desktop remains as Kubuntu with some Kubuntu menu options added. I have searched through the forums but I have not found out how to make the system totally Kubuntu.
Any help would be appreciated!

You have two options available to you.

Open Adept Manager and locate and mark for removal, the Gnome Desktop package (sorry, I'm at work and don't remember the exact package, but you should be able to find it easily enough), and then locate and mark for installation package kde.

These actions will 1) remove the Gnome Desktop packages, and 2) install the KDE Desktop packages.

You can also just mark for installation, the kde package and have a Desktop environment, that has both, Gnome and KDE applications for your use.
