NEWBIE triple boot on mac book pro, have OS X and Windows Xp installed already

Hey all, I have been doing research on this online, and have found one great link, but before I screw up my fresh new 2007 MBP, I want to be sure that I get everything.

    From this site: http://wiki.onmac.net/index.php/Trip...ootCamp_Ubuntu

I have a feeling Kubuntu's installation is not different at all from Ubuntu's.

So, I am confused, because I think this guide and all the others I have come across assume you have a "temporary" version of windows installed that you can just scrap. I have a permanent NTFS partition version of windows I installed successfully with boot camp. I thought it would be easy enough to make another partition with boot camp and then install the kubuntu OS CD to the new partition.... but it seems to actually do it properly requires much more that is over my head. I just want Linux to learn about computers more, and to mess around with, so although the guide I linked to may be all I need, it makes little sense to me.

Can anyone clarify for me if I can still install Kubuntu despite having Windows already on, that would be great. Also, if anyone could provide/link to a more noob friendly MBP install guide, that would be amazing as well. Thanks for ANY help, as I really want to have this triple booted on my amazing laptop!

Many people here prefer to use GParted Live CD to do their partition editing prior to running the Kubuntu installer.

    GParted: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php.
(free download, works great, and is easy to use, and may work better than the partitioner included with the Kubuntu installer)

Yes -- specifically, you can have Windows installed first before Kubuntu. In fact, that's the easy and preferred way for most people, to keep things simple and manageable.

I'm not sure about your OS X, though. No experience with it. Kubuntu uses the boot loader/manager called GNU GRUB (or GRUB for short).
That's about all I know here. Maybe something referenced may be of help to you.

Thanks for the links. On another forum, someone suggested I use vmware or parallels for Linux. I think that makes the most sense for me, as it is easiest for me to do, lowest risk, and its not like I will be doing heavy stuff on Linux where running it naively would help me.

However, one of these days I will find out how to properly make a third partition in OS X! If anyone has info about that, I am still interested. thanks again
