Failure in upgrading to KDE 3.5.7

Hi,
I'm reading the annoucement that KDE 3.5.7 has released.So I upgraded my Kubuntu to the new version.
But there are a problem when downloading the packages from the server.It has suspended for a long time, so I decided to restart the system. But after I restarted it, it can't run.
When I login, there are a error appeared in the screen : It can't read the /temp folder ..... so it returned to the login screen.
I have tried to fix the errors by typing in the following command:
sudo apt-get install
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
but it didn't work.
Anybody can help me

For starters: du and/or df as well as apt-get clean
(for details, please refer to this forum's archive ...).

hmm, try to run a:

sudo aptitude dist-upgrade
