Installing Kubuntu 7.04 in RAID 0 where I have Suse 10.2

I have Ubuntu in another box, but I want to try Kubuntu in this box. I had problems with Ubuntu 7.04 in this box. It would just not install. I have about 250GB free of 640GB in RAID 0 (2 SATA2 drives of 320GB each one) Specs: Core 2 Duo, Intel D975XBX Motherboard, XFXNVIDIA 7800GT. Can I expect trouble from Kubuntu with RAID 0? Also Ubuntu would not mount my CD-DVD. Is this a problem known to Kubuntu too? What's the best way to proceed with the installation? Thanks for your help.

I'd suggest configuring a software raid.. do you want to keep Suse?

You're mobo uses fakeraid. Kubuntu will work, but you'll have to mess around with it a bit. Here's some reading to get you started: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FakeRaidHowto
