kubuntu 7.04 install cd woes ("error reading boot CD")

I created a disc image on a CD-RW disc and when I re-boot my computer, having changed the boot order, the Kubuntu men appears. However, when I choose install Kubuntu or check cd for defects I am prompted that Linux is loading yet it only reaches 3% before a separate dialog appears that says..

I/O error
Error reading boot CD

This has happened twice. The first time I created the boot CD on a desktop computer running XP. Then I tried creating it on the laptop computer where I want to install Linux. Any ideas would be most welcome. Thanks, Jon.

G'day, Jon. When you burn the ISO image, you need to burn it at a low speed, say about 4X. This should give you a better result.

Thank you very much.. your advice did the trick (I chose the slowest speed listed among several options, 1x). Jon.
