Slow shutdown

on shutdown I get this error:

CIFS VFS: server not responding
CIFS VFS : error on line 50 error 18

What can I do about this? sometimes it hangs here for about 50-60 seconds before shutting down.

Have You try to do <ctrl>+c when you have this messages in shutdown ?

Yes, just have but it does nothing.

What can I do about this?

See to it that the server "keeps going" - or disconnect from it before shutting down (the client).

So that would probably be the Win Xp ntfs shares. But sometimes it shutdown with no problems, sometimes it hangs. Will hav4e to start making a few notes of when it does it.

I have the same problem, and I also seem to have other annoying ntfs share troubles that are probably related, I have to force mount my ntfs drives, and my NAS drive is fine until I try to access, save etc under wine or VirtualBox ...
