    boot and partition questions

hi guys , i have two questions and one of them is abput boot loader and the other is about harddrive partitions. before questions i want to give you some informations

I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo which has two sata hdd. i bought it without any operating system.

I have already installed kubuntu 7.04 and it works pretty good. the question is if i install XP after the kubuntu what will hapen to boot loader? and if it doesnt work, how can i install only boot loader?

the other question is, as i told you before i have two sata hdd, and i divided C drive into 3 parts and two of them ext3 one of them NTFS, the other hdd is ext3. when i tried to install the kubuntu it asked mounted points for all hdd partitions, i think something gone wrong in that part. and now, i cannot use my partitions.

How can i fix that ?

these questions are a bit urgent thank you very much

Hope any one of those will give you what you need for GRUB (Boot Loader)
I can't really help on the other issue - Did you provide the Mount locations? Generally they reside where Kubuntu is installed in the /media location.

      Re: boot and partition questions

You can fix the Linux bootloader (GRUB) after you get done adding Windows. No problem (usually!).
The third reference above lays out all options and tells you how:

(Sorry, I can’t recall at just this minute what is contained in the first two references given by MoonRise.)

      Just a note for you:
Windows really, really prefers to be on the first partition of the first hard drive, so called (hd0, 0).
Sure makes life easy if you can do that for yourself.

I also cannot help much on the second set of questions.
Except to add that many of us here use GParted Live CD to do partitioning and partition editing. Very easy to use (as I have on two SATAs and various thumb drives or UFDs).

Yes, unfortunately, yes. Pay attention to that.
