Help! windows XP changed boot files

i was trying to fix my brother's xp install so i put his hard drive in my system and booted from the windows cd. problem is my kubuntu installation was on my master drive and windows on the slave drive. when i booted from the disk, windows installed its own boot files on my master. now i can't load kubuntu.
Is there a way to install just the boot files without losing my accounts already created?
