    BCM43xx-microcode5.fw boot stop error...

I'm running an Asus Z92T (A6T) Go7600 gfx, Turion X2 (TL52) and I presume from the error broadcom WIFI NIC although under XP it is identified as an Asus 802.11g NIC. The primary NIC is a wired Realtek RTL8168/8111.

For me this issue only arises when changing from vesa to nvidia graphics drivers. What has me really stumped is that I can install ubuntu 7.04 and I do not get this issue...even when manually installing KDE over the top and setting it to default instead of gnome, and then updating from the default nv driver to a newer one.

The only options I seem to have is either to install ubuntu and then install KDE which ends up with a all too busy set of menus and numerous doubleups in application functionality, or install kubuntu and only use the vesa driver which makes having a geforce 7 graphics subsystem pretty much worthless and not using my crt monitor which bigger than LCD of laptop...

Any better options anyone? I would like to stay with kubuntu if possible.

Oh and as an after-thought, kubuntu and ubuntu installs use 64bit versions.
Working...
