error in upgrade - solved

[v3rm3]

Hi group,

When I try to do a system upgrade I get the following message:

error http://security.ubuntu.com feisty-security Release.gpg

It's a new instalation, just installed and tried to upgrade the system.

Any ideas ?

don't know really...
sometimes the ubuntu security repository times out...
i replaced it with my local mirror.
haven't had any troubles since.

so (in my case):

deb http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu feisty-security main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu feisty-security main restricted universe multiverse

Well I forgot my office workstation is kubuntu too

So I did:

echo "deb http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu feisty-security main restricted universe multiverse"
echo "deb-src http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu feisty-security main restricted universe multiverse"

and then

sudo apt-get update

with the following result:

i can't reach the brazilian mirror via http.
from here, it seems br.archive.ubuntu.com definitely has a problem.

Seems that we have some connection problems with the servers, I was getting the same errors but I re-tried and the updates downloaded just fine. I would suggest that you try the same by re-trying.

I think my network configuration is fine, I have access to all the network printers, files, internet, etc...

I already retried mannnnnnnnny times

Will wait a little bit before doing it again.

Back home, the problem still persisted

Then I edited etc/apt/sources.list, removing the br. at the begining of each line, as was sugested in other forum, and then I was able to apt-get update.

At this very moment the system is updating itself with adept, I hope the problem is solved this way. Will post the final result.
