Cant use live cd with my intel imac

Hello,

When I try to use the boot live cd to test kubuntu, my intel imac fails to load the kubuntu.
What can I do?, its possible to test the live cd on a intel mac?

Which version did you try? I,m not sure if the PC version will work on Intel macs. You may still have to use the Mac version.

Maybe a dumb question: Is your bios set to boot from cd/dvd first?

Intel Macs should use the standard CD (the PPC version is, IIRC, being left to fester now that new Macs have moved away from PPC architecture).

When you say "fails to load", how far do you get? It's certainly possible to install Kubuntu on an Intel Mac and get it working, I did so with a friend a little while back.

Are you trying to dual boot or run it in parallels?

It gets stuck in a black screen

After kubuntu starts loading in a black screen with the kubuntu logo and a blue bar. It goes to a black screen where I can type but nothing happens
