live cd on hard disk and multiple instance

I have copied the cd content AS IS on the hard disk,
then I have configured grub to run it.

All works ok, so I can try to make some cd customizations.

I like to have more versions of the livecd on hard disk,
how can I tell che kernel to use one or another version?
There is a root parameter? How can be used?

Not sure I get your point - but there is an option to mount ISO images as so-called loop devices (further reading).
