    KDE not responding to settings

    AMD64
After upgrading through automatic upgrade from 6.10 to 7.04 My KDE is ignoring some settings.
Mainly it is disturbing that it gets locked although the settings say clearly it shouldn't.
It is really annoying since when its locked in Hebrew I can't change language and I can't enter the PWD in Hebrew.
Also, for some unknown reason, when I click f1-ctrl-alt and go to console (because DT is locked) and use startx (since startkde doesn't work) I get gnome DT (!!??) I probably have it because I have Gnome applications, but it should be default desktop, in fact when entering normally through login screen it isn't.
I'm really frustrated does any one have any idea how to solve at least part of it?

    THANKS!!!

At least for the sake of debugging:

    Code:
    sudo mv /usr/bin/kdedesktop_lock /usr/bin/kdedesktop_lock.orig
    sudo touch /usr/bin/kdedesktop_lock

    What does /etc/X11/default-display-manager contain?

      Thanks for the HELP!

tried touching the file and so (though it turned to be /etc/X11/default-display-manager)
      hope it will work.

My /etc/X11/default-display-manager says /usr/bin/kdm so it seems OK (which puzzles me...)
      thanks for the help again.
