This is my second attempt at joining the ranks of Kubuntu users. Edgy Eft never loaded on my system (tried both the standard and the alternate cds). Now, with my attempt a Feisty, hoping something was fixed, I now get the normal boot option screen and when I try to install I get the following message:
Kernel alive
Cannot find a valid memory mapPANIC: early exception rip ffffffff8027a450 error 0 cr2 ffffffffff5fd030
I am guessing it must be the machine since I can run the cd fine on another system... though even the below machine can run Fedora. Specs:
3.2 GHz HT (Intel 640, with 64-bit)
512 DDR 333 memory
ASUS P5GDC Deluxe (intel 915)
Nvidia PCI (yes, PCI) GeForce3, 64 MB
