I did something really stupid... changed home dir. to home

I made the home directory of my user to "/home"
    instead of /home/user"

    I restarted X server....

And now I cannot log in.. to X

How do I changed it in "failsave mod" in console?

But you can login as root?

    There are more possibilities then.
The easy one is "usermod -d "/home/your_user_dir your_user_name"
(Of course, You have to substitute your_user_dir and your_user_name with your settings)

Then you may again be able to login.

Boot in "recovery mode" and do startx at the command line promt.

then in a terminal follow the instructions above or:

go to K->system config-> users go into admin mode and add a user, give him the same password and give him admin rights.. Copy your stuff (especially the hidden stuff) from your old user to the new one. Reboot and all should be well. Login to your new user.

How did you do that anyway

        I hope that helps
