More NVIDIA problems.

I've been trying, trying, trying, and trying again to get this to work. I'm trying to install beryl on 7.04. My graphics card is:

nVidia Corporation NV18 [GeForce4 MX - nForce GPU]

so i installed the legacy driver as I think that is what is required for older cards.

After installing the driver, I've got a desktop and everything seems to be working but when I run beryl I have no borders and sometimes the whole computer freezes requiring a hard reboot. I typed beryl into the console and this the the result:

At this point all borders disappear and beryl seems to be partially working. I went to the beryl wiki and tried all the fixes there for it. It's seems like it just one little tweak that I got to make but I can't figure it out.

Does anyone know what GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is?

Beryl seems to be working as the splash comes up and I can also rotate the desktop cube, just no borders.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Of course I've tried the search. I've looked at many posts with the same problems. All the fixes I've found didn't work. Even the fix on beryl's site didn't work. I've been working on this for 4 days prior to posting.

Beryl should come with a bottle of aspirins. Beryl reminds me of a girl I used to date, gave me a headache but I kept coming back because she looked so good...

It works on my laptop, worked on this same computer under edgy.

Anybody else?

Follow that guid but where it says nvidia-glx you HAVE TO CHANGE IT TO nvidia-glx-new

if your system crasches then please do a sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx or nvidia-glx-new

il post my xorg conf here maby you can use it .. i always has that file as a backup and if something goes wrong then i do sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf and changes the DRIVER "nvidia" to "nv"
