    Upgrade from Dapper to Feisty

Can someone guide me on how to upgrade from Kubuntu 6.06 (Dapper) to Kubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) I am gleaning bits and pieces but I feel I am missing some things.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks a Bunch.

There's no direct route so you'd have to download double the data to go from dapper to edgy to feisty. If you wanted to do that you would want to change 'dapper' to 'edgy' in your sources.list and "aptitude dist-upgrade" from dapper because it handles the dependencies a little better than apt-get for that upgrade.

Then you'd need to follow the upgrade guide for kubuntu on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FeistyUpgrades and follow all those steps to go from edgy to feisty.

If it were me, I'd backup anything critical and do a fresh feisty install.

If you want to you can create a list of installed packages too by doing a:
    dpkg --get-selections > ~/selectionfile

Hmm - I tried upgrade from dapper to feisty. Everything went ok but this is not the recommended way to upgrade. As firephoto said safest way (probably ) is fresh install (data backup) or update from dapper -> edgy -> fiesty.
