Solved - Installer crashes on manual partition setup

I need to manually set up the partitioning as i want to keep my current Home directory intact. The install proceeds fine up until that, when every time i select "Manual" and click "Next", the installer crashes.

is this a known problem in the beta?

If I installed from the IDE CDROM it worked. I was trying from the USB CDRW drive on which I burned the CD....
