Feisty Herd 4 freezes at boot !

Hi all,

I've been trying to get Feisty Herd 3&4 to work but no success yet. I hope you guys can help me out a little.
The installation (live) cd freezes after a few seconds with this screen.

Here's the errormsg:

hit f6 at the opening install menu erplace quiet and splash with irqpoll noapic and nolapic.

You will be able to see the boot process and the new parameters will most likely clear up the problem.

I've been living this for a few weeks with 965 based boards.

Once installed you will need to add the same paramenters to the install kernel via grub

you may need to use the alt cd image

Look at the paramenters passed on the kernel lines below.

I made these entries in menu.lst found in /boot/grub

title		Kubuntu, kernel 2.6.20-9-generic
root		(hd0,2)
kernel		/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.20-9-generic root=UUID=b06c118c-74d4-4a69-86c3-bcab06f2c04f ro irqpoll noapic nolapic
