Can anyone tell me why the kmenu has only logout. I need to go back to the login screen to shutdown. I have been looking for this in the settings with no luck.

I am runny Edgy.
I am running 6.06 and shut down is first thing at bottom of menu. It is last one under actions: which include run, switch users, lock session, and shut down. Do you have actions at bottom of Kmenu?
Yes, but I only have Run, Lock session, and Logout...
When I click on Log Out I get several choices including shut down. Try it and see what you get. One choice is also cancel so it should not create any problem.

And if you don't see the choices...check on SystemSettings>Advanced>SessionManager that 'Offer shutdown options' is checked.
I have the same problem in kubuntu feisty herd 4.
I only get a LOG OUT option, nothing else.
I have checked the suggestions here but I still only get the "log out" option.
I saw that once when I was logged in to Herd 4 as "root", while installing the Nvidia proprietary driver. But every time I do my normal user login through the X server window, I get the normal Kmenu log out options.
