    One Bug Fixed, Another Introduced

I successfully installed Feisty Herd 2 on my old laptop, using manual partition to create / and /home partitions. But when I tried to install Herd 3 or Herd 2 using the apt-get fix on my new laptop using manual install, GRUB fails to install although it may appear that installation was successful.

As a test, I tried installing Herd 3 using guided partitioning to create a single partition. This worked, but is not what I want - you cannot upgrade the OS without losing your data.

Anyone know what's been done to ubiquity to cause this problem ?
