    Lost USB Functionality

I have Feisty Fawn installed on an IBM Thinkpad A30. I've used it for several months and have had no problems. Just last week, though, I lost the use of my USB ports and have no idea why.

I am going to use a live disk to see if there's a problem with the actual USB hardware. If the hardware is fine, though, is there something I can do to fix things from the software end?

    Thank you,

Are you sure you don't have functional USB ports? When you click on System Menu | Storage Media, are your USB storage devices shown (I'm assuming that you have USB HDs attached)?

Odd. After a reboot, everything's back to normal again. That's all well and good, but any ideas on why the functionality was lost in the first place?

      Thank you.
