DVD burning issues (both in feisty and gutsy)

Hi there, I'm having problems burning DVDs. This has been going on for a while in feisty and i always thought it had something to do with the fact I've got a sata/pata setup with the j-micron controller and was hoping the upgrade to gutsy's new kernel would help. It didn't... same problems occur in gutsy as in feisty and it doesn't matter if I'm running k3b as a user or as root. Here is the debug output from k3b

    Code:

can anyone point me in the right (or for the bad pun lovers 'the write') direction to fix this? anymore info I can supply?

The drive is an LG that used to work fine a few releases ago...

    thanks for any help

Re: DVD burning issues (both in feisty and gutsy)

fixed this sort of.... it seems to have been an issue with the source file names or volume name (not sure, which changed both and also turned off multisession at the same time) being too long or too freaky for growisofs I think. So the problem would either be with k3b putting together bad calls to growisofs / mkisofs etc or two those progs not being able to handle otherwise legit file names.

Is this something that should lead to a bug report upstream? has anyone else had a similar problem and know what the appropriate next step is?
