    Printing with an OKIPAGE 16n

I have a OKIDATA OKIPAGE 16n printer, it´s connected to a winXP computer and shared on the network, I can print on from another winXP computer, but not from Kubuntu, because THERES NO DRIVER FOR IT!!!!!! It´s NOT ON THE LIST!!!!!!! On all the ¨how to´s¨ they just assume that your printer is on the driver list, but the OKIPAGE 16n IS NOT ON THE LIST!!!! So how can I use it with Kubuntu? Please help.

There's a package in the Feisty repos that is called something close to "foomatic-db-gutenprint" (I'm away from my Linux system or I would look it up). If you install that package, it has a lot more drivers available, like my Epson C84, for example. I can't guarantee it has your OKI, but it's a place to try.

Well nice guess ¨dibl¨! That was the exact name of the package! But my printer is not on the supported printers list. So any ideas? Anyone?

Bad news, Carl -- here's the site for all open source printer drivers listings:

        http://www.linuxprinting.org/printer_list.cgi

and your OKIpage 16n is not on the list.

There's OKIpage 20DXn -- I don't know what would happen if you tried that driver. Probably you won't have any worse result ....

        Sorry.
