    Sound Card Issue

A few days ago I bought an Auzentech X-Plosion sound card and the install went fine. However, while drivers were loaded, the acutal sound coming out of the speakers was at about half the tempo that it should be. All audio was incredibly slow and I can't find any settings that could be causing this or remedy it. The problem exists in Kubuntu, Vista, and XP. Is the card more than likely faulty?

My system is a DG965OT Intel MB with an e4400 Core2Duo. I disabled the onboard audio in the bios, tried it with the audio still enabled, reinstalled both XP and VIsta but got the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking the card is not working properly but hope to get another perspective before I return it to NCIX.

If the problem exists across platforms, I would forget about software and driver issues. Can you plug it into another box just to confirm a hardware problem. If it does work on another box, It could be a problem with the slot it's plugged into?

      Re: Sound Card Issue

Unfortunately I only have the one PC, my other computer is an eMac and this is the only PCI card I have since my vid card is PCIEx16.

I hope its not the PCI bus on my mother board (I tried both slots) since I just built this computer in May of this year.

Well, that narrows it down to the card or your motherboard.
I don't suppose you had any friends or anything that'd allow you to play with their hardware...

          Thanks for the input.

I ended up returning the card for exchange and the new one works perfectly. I'm so glad that my PCI slots aren't faulty.
