    Printing Problem with PDF Files

I have an HP OfficeJet 4300 Multifunction device. When printing a text document, or OpenOffice document, the page prints okay (very bottom portion of text is dropped if I make the margin too small). But when I print a PDF file (whether through KPDF, Ghostview or Adobe), CUPS wants to add an extra 1 inch (or so) margin to the top of the page, thereby removing the bottom portion of the page.

Is there a fix to this? Thanks.

Have you set your page size to letter or A4?

System settings->printer->"your printer"->profiles->general-<page size (or something to that extent, mine is in german)

        4 GB Ram
        Kubuntu 18.10

I never set it; apparently the default is "A4". Setting it to "Letter" fixed the problem (for the most part). It still cuts off the very bottom edge of a PDF -- and I can't get rid of the page border.

          Vielen Dank fuer dein Hilfe.
