    Monitor and Display missing

I just did a dist-upgrade from edgy to feisty and now the monitor and display applet is missing and I can't change the resolution.

I know, I can change it by editing the xorg.conf file, but I am lazy and this just seems like an annoyance. X is working just fine at 1400x1050 resolution. After the upgrade and a reboot, the applet was there but when I opened it there was an error that said this was an orphaned package that was no longer installed.

    Any help is most appreciated.

Hmm... How about opening up konsole and executing these commands, one by one (just copy-paste, line by line):

      Code:
      sudo apt-get update
      sudo apt-get upgrade
      sudo apt-get check
You might try this one too:
      Code:
      sudo dpkg --configure -a
      See what that does.
      For external use only.
