Epson Stylus Photo R260

Ok, I found a driver for this printer and downloaded the tar file from
http://avasys.jp/hp/menu000000500/hpg000000442.htm
When I try to install I get "cups-config missing" and it stops. Here is the output.

What or where is cups-config?

I'd rather try to eliminate the bug from the config script
(Assuming that the "config missing" is only an aftereffect.)

Open the config script (e.g. with Kate) and go to line 7470.
Change $have_cups_config to "$have_cups_config" (i.e. add quotation marks).

Problem is that with a variable set to null, it gets seen as "if test = bar ", which is invalid.

Fortunately for you, this looks like a one-time slip, so you probably won't have to do this multiple times.

(By the way, why didn't you pick "Debian" as your system or get the deb instead of the tgz?)

Thanks I'll try this.

I did select Debian but when it put me in the download page my choices were tar or RPM.

I will take another look.
