Sound problems with a Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic Card

    Good morning,
I recently purchased a Dell XPS 710 with a Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card. Unfortunantly I'm not currently infront of my computer to give specifics, but from going over how-to's i've determined that the only audio device being seen by ubuntu on boot is my USB mic on my webcam.

The card works in windows so it's not a problem with the physical seating of the card AFAIK. Are there known problems with this card, and what kernel module should I be looking at to perhaps try to get this properly working? Any help would be apprecieated. Thank you.

I find that soundblaster in Dell machines seems to have been changed so they only work with windows. I have 2 dell machines and neither will work with linux. I installed a new store purchased soundblaster into my pentium 4 and all worked fine.
I have the same problem with my pentium D 930, will not work with Linux. I purchased an external soundblaster and all works just fine in windows and Linux..
      Hope that helps..
