Kubuntu does not recognize my scanner or printer but I will deal with the printer later. I downloaded the sane dist. for my scanner but I am having a lot of trouble configuring it. I followed the instructions given on the sane site but the command module will not accept the commands. If someone could give me a more detailed instruction I would appreciate it. Thanks.

To start "somewhere": does the command sudo sane-find-scanner result in any (positive) form of "scanner found" ...? -

Is it a usb scanner?
I finally got mine working after reading this bug report and installing scanbuttond.
