    save screen resolution - NVIDIA

    Hello,
I have NVIDIA GeForceTi, I instalaled original nvidia driver " NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9631-pkg1.run" because I could not set my screen resolution and frequency before. Now I have in Settings - Nvidia XServer Settings. I set up my resolution and refresh rate, I saved it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf but after restart the settings are default again.
    Thank you for advice.

Open a console window, and type
    Code:
    sudo nvidia-settings
This will bring up your Nvidia driver utility, but now you are in Super User mode (you have the Power!). On the xserver display configuraton panel, set your resolution and refresh rate, click "OK", and then in the lower right click the button that says "Save to X Configuration File". On the dialog box, click "Save", and since you have the Power, it will overwrite xorg.conf with your settings (or that's what it is supposed to do).

Now say a little prayer to the monkey-god, press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, and see what happens -- maybe you'll be blessed.
