    Keypad doesn't work

Have feisty amd-64. The USB stand-along keypad is not being picked up.
I've run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and that application does not appear
    to recognize it.
I've migrated from a slackware 10.0 box, and to the best of my knowledge,
xorg.conf on that machine had no entry for the keypad, so I don't know how to proceed
    from here.
Any advice, pointers to docs, or sample config code would be appreciated.
    thanks
    tim

If you execute "lsusb", does it appear in the list?
    For external use only.

      Here's what lsusb returns:
      """
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 046d:c408 Logitech, Inc. Marble Mouse (4-button)
      Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 058f:6377 Alcor Micro Corp.
      Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
      """
Hmm! That's a good utility, never knew it existed. Since I have 4 usb
      devices
      1)Mouse
      2)Keyboard
      3)Light
      4)keypad
Must be one of the last three.
      What to do now?
      thanks
