    Epson Stylus Photo R220

I'm trying to install this in 7.04. I do not see this specific printer listed in the driver list. I have Xubuntu 7.04 loaded on another box and it does show this printer and I am sure that it was also listed with Dapper. Does anyone have any recommendations here. I was able to get it to print with another driver but it's not right. Everything was a little off (margins, alignment, etc)

    Thanks, erie

Thanks for the link. Since this print driver is available in the other versions would there be a way to export it into Feisty? There must be a reason that it was left out of Kubuntu 7.04 but supplied with Xubuntu 7.04 and Kubuntu Dapper? Things that make you go hmm.

Did you try to transfer the according ppd file from Xubuntu?

Apparently space was running in short supply on the live CD for Feisty, and printer drivers lost the contest. Here is my experience, which may be helpful if you will follow the trail of breadcrumbs:

            Probably the answer is "Gutenprint".

Use ADept or Synaptic and install foomatic files. think there is 2 of them. all the missing drivers from Dapper are there.

Beautiful, it now works perfectly. The driver showed up on the list and all is good.

                  Thanks to everyone

                    the proprietary drivers work best

Just install your printerdriver with the CUPS manager

They don't really. The Foomatic Gutenprint drivers recognize the Compact Disc Printing tray
and the proprietary drivers do not, for instance.
