    ati radeon x1600 pro

    hello.
o downloaded the driver from ati:s homepage,
    it was a (ati-driver-installer-8.36.5-x86.x86_64.run)
but when i click on the file, it says the file is a binary, and to save it, it will make a file destroy. (my translation to englis, im swedish) how can i install the driver to my grafic card? im not realy shure its installd, i can change the resolution to 1280x1024 75hz. but when i drag a window, itś not only one. there are many windows until a let it go, thens thers only one again.
hope that anyone know what to do, if im not have installd the driver ore if there is something else.

No, that's not the same problem at all.
zenbios, the problem is that you are not supposed to click on it. You are supposed to run it. For example, in Konsole, go to the directory containing it, then type (or paste, or use tab-completion) "sudo bash ati-driver-installer-8.36.5-x86.x86_64.run". This will ask you for your password.

After that finishes, you need to install the packages it created, see this for information on how to do that (or for the full guide).
Last step is to run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg", selecting the "fglrx" driver, followed by a reboot.
If all goes well, you shouldn't see anything different.
      For external use only.

Well, ok, not the same exact problem but that thread has posts regarding the installation of the drivers.
