    Barcode Scanner

    I am thinking of buying a USB barcode scanner.

    Can I expect to plug in and go or will it require some additional configuration to get it working?

    Most barcode scanners simply emulate keyboard input and require no drivers. I have one and will test it out after I get home tonight.

      I can confirm that my Symbol Technologies Part Number LS2208-SR20007 worked plug and play. When scanning a barcode it is just like typing on a keyboard and pressing ENTER. (The ENTER is actually programable within the reader itself by reading special barcodes)
