      sane
      http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfg...Z-PACKARD-BELL
      says its supported
      ubuntu
      https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupp...onentsScanners
says its not so since graphics; kooka is using sane I thought sane was worth a try
I installed it but am now stuck
I ended up here to configure sane
      http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Scanner-HOWTO/...eshooting.html
      grep -e scanner /etc/group
      produces the result
      scanner:104:cupsys,hplip,chris
so I assume I am in the scanner group
      then I'm told

if none of the above work, from within the directory containing the SANE configuration files,..
but I don't know where they are!
      - any idea where to now (apart from the asylum!) - I think the acronym 'SANE' is a joke at my expense!
