EDIT 3: Started version numbering. Version history available upon request. (I don't want to include it in the script, nor distribute multiple files.)
Current version: 1.14. (If there isn't a version anywhere, it's earlier than that.)
EDIT 2: Figured I might as well update this, seeing as I'm referring people to it.
I am running Feisty now, and I have tested the script on my own machine. It seems to have gone well, but there's only so much testing you can do with fglrx already installed and working. If you use it, send feedback!
You still need to specify one of -m or -r (you'll probably be using -m if I refer you to my script), unfortunately. (If anyone knows how to apply options by default with what I've got set up in the script, please tell me.)
(Edit of original post followed by the original post is below.)
EDIT: Done! (I think.)
Since I'm not running Feisty, I'd like some people to try it out!
As fas as I know, it works. I've tried executing most of the commands by themselves, and everything checked out.
Unfortunately, as I haven't figured out how to make options apply by default, you need to specify one of -r (get from repository) or -m (get from ATI, compile, etc.) to run it properly.
Also, I'm considering implementing something to change your xorg.conf for you... what do you guys think?
(Original post follows.)
So I'm about half-done with it, and I figured I might as well post what I have now, so that you guys can point out all the glaring errors I made before it's to the point where I'd rather not touch it any more. This is my first real script, so I don't think it'll be too good (though something says it's great for a first time).
It's getting a bit long to post, so I'm attaching it instead.
Please don't try and use it just yet, I haven't tested anything except the help message. (And the grep command, but...)
