Problems with Asus M2N-SLI onboard audio

I have an M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard (ADI 1988B 8-channel High Definition Audio), but Kubuntu doesn't seem to be detecting the audio chipset. KMix's Switches tab only lists Headphone and Mono, which is why I don't think it's being detected at all. It is enabled in the BIOS as far as I can tell. Any other suggestions?

Well, I managed to figure it out. Apparently the digital output channel was muted. The channel doesn't show up anywhere in KMix, but it is in the ALSA mixer (alsamixergui is a usable GUI frontend). Hopefully this will help people dealing with onboard sound not working.

Yeah, that's happened before. Nobody knows why it happens, though.
