Disable touchpad

I got a nice small keyboard with build in touchpad, they shared the same USB, my thumb keep touching the pad while typing it is quite annoying, can I disable the touchpad without disable the keyboard ?

I know there is a tool for Synaptic touchpads (ksynaptics) for laptops that is great and I use it on my laptop to disable it. I use to like the touchpad but have since gone back to the mouse, much faster at least for me. I do not know if it will work for the combo keyboard system, but worth a shot.
