    Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 HiFi support

    Hi,

I'm currently looking for a high-end soundcard, for playing music and dvd's in my livingroom, and I kinda descided on a Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 HiFi soundcard.
But I'm a bit concerned whether drivers for Linux has been written?
Has anyone else had some experiences with this particular soundcard? Positive or negative?
Or any other recommendations on which soundcard to use with my Kubuntu-box?

    Anything's appreciated!

The manufacturer doesn't appear to have any Linux drivers, and a quick "apt-cache search '[Aa]udiotrak'" doesn't return anything. I can't tell you much more that that, sorry.

Thanks SheetEttin, I appreciate your efforts!!
But I was looking over Ubuntu's Wiki under Hardware support, and noticed TerraTec has a soundcard that's based on the very same chip as the Prodigy 7.1 series - The ENVY24 chip...
It was registered that Ubuntu automaticly had found and installed the driver for the TerraTec version, which apparently worked just fine...
So, in theory, seeing how the soundchip is the only part needing a driver - as far as I know - wouldn't Kubuntu just find it and installed the same driver as for the TerraTec-card...?
And if so, would there be any problem supporting the many different features of the Prodigy 7.1

Because it's the same chip, everything should work normally. For example, my video card has an ATI Radeon chip, but the board is made by ASUS. It's seen as an unknown board, but a supported chipset. I guess a good analogy would be a Russian person speaking Spanish. (I have no idea where that came from.)
